A suspect has allegedly confessed and arrested for the Super Falcons hotel theft. This follows the announcement of stolen $1220 from team members from the Marriott, Casablanca hotel lodge of the Super Falcons.
The suspect is to return the entire stolen amount while legal proceedings are set to follow.
As earlier reported by Eko Akete News, the team’s forward, Esther Okoronkwo took to her Snapchat account to make claims of a stolen $1220 from four members of the team, including $700 stolen from her.
The hotel staff were then questioned by the players but left with unsatisfactory results. The post of Nigerian journalist and former Super Eagles media officer, Colin Udoh, on Sunday has however revealed that the case has progressed significantly.
“I have been informed that a suspect has been arrested in connection with the theft at the Super Falcons’ Marriott Hotel in Casablanca and has confessed. Full restitution will be made to the players while the law takes its course,” Udoh stated.
Meanwhile, the Super Falcons have not relented in their zeal to win their 11th cup as the incident did not affect their preparations, with Nigeria’s opening match against Malawi set for Tuesday, 28th July at Al Madina Stadium in Rabat.
