NGA Announces Three-Day Training on Nigeria’s Changing Gas Industry Regulations

The Nigerian Gas Association (NGA) has announced a three-day certified training programme aimed at equipping stakeholders with deeper knowledge of Nigeria’s evolving natural gas industry amid reforms under the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA) and the global energy transition.

The training, titled “Legal and Regulatory Frameworks in the Nigerian Natural Gas Industry Value Chain,” is scheduled to hold from August 24 to 26, 2026.

According to NGA Learning Solutions, the programme is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the Nigerian gas sector and improve their appreciation of the industry’s value chain.

The association said the implementation of the PIA, alongside the global shift towards cleaner energy, is expected to significantly reshape the legal and regulatory framework governing Nigeria’s gas industry.

“Transformations to the legal and regulatory landscape in the Nigerian Gas Industry is expected to reveal and create value and opportunity in equal measure for operators, practitioners and investors,” the NGA stated.

The training will examine legal and regulatory issues across the natural gas value chain, with up to 18 modules to be delivered by industry experts. Sessions will run daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and will include interactive sessions and question-and-answer segments.

The association said participants who are unable to attend the live sessions will have access to recorded versions of the training for later viewing.

The programme is open to operators, regulators, legal practitioners, investors, consultants and other stakeholders seeking to understand regulatory requirements and emerging opportunities in Nigeria’s post-PIA gas market.

The training fee is ₦200,000 for NGA Associate Members and ₦250,000 for non-members.
