Award-winning Nigerian singer and songwriter Teni Apata popular known as Teni Makanaki has released her new extended play (EP), The Wellness Package, a project she describes as a reflection of personal growth, healing and finding joy in everyday life. The project features collaborations with Olamide, Chike and The Cavemen, with tracks including Zion featuring Olamide and Wuru Maya featuring Chike.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the EP, Teni said the project reflects her mindset at the start of a new year.“It was a new year. I was feeling the energy. You can pause but never stop,” she said.
Alongside the release, the singer announced a strategic partnership with Gamma to expand her global presence. Gamma founder and Chief Executive Officer, Larry Jackson, described Teni as an artist with a unique ability to connect with audiences worldwide, while Gamma Africa President, Sipho Dlamini, said she continues to push the boundaries of African music. Gamma Africa Vice President, Larry Gaaga, added that the project reflects the singer’s artistic growth.
To promote the EP, Teni has launched a series of fan-focused activities, including a cinematic teaser campaign, the Wellness Package Run Club, a treasure hunt offering exclusive wellness boxes and an immersive listening party.
The release follows the success of Zion, which has amassed more than 20 million streams, generated over 500,000 TikTok user-created videos, reached No. 1 on YouTube Nigeria and charted on Spotify and Apple Music. Teni has performed on international stages including Coachella with DJ Spinall, Madison Square Garden with Davido, Montreal’s MURAL Festival and London’s O2 Arena.
