The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) has stepped up enforcement against illegal parking across the state as part of efforts to improve traffic flow and ensure unobstructed access on public roads.
The agency said its Monitoring and Enforcement Unit recently carried out an operation on Akintoye Road near Ajeromi General Hospital in Apapa, targeting vehicles parked in designated “No Parking” zones.
LASPA General Manager, Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu, said the exercise followed a public awareness campaign and the installation of traffic signs along the corridor. She added that the operation was conducted peacefully and in line with established procedures, with offending vehicles towed where necessary.
Adelabu also disclosed that one of the authority’s “No Parking” signs installed along the road had been removed. She warned residents and motorists against vandalising or stealing public infrastructure, noting that offenders would be prosecuted.
She urged motorists to obey parking regulations, pay attention to traffic signs, use designated parking facilities and cooperate with LASPA enforcement officers.
